April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball star from the United States is part of a select set of females who've won medals in multiple Olympics. She is set to compete in Tokyo to compete for her third Olympic medal with Alix Klineman, who is a first-time Olympian. Ross is determined to earn more than just her first Olympic medal. The next time she has the chance to do so at the age of 39. The athlete is optimistic she'll be successful in achieving top honours. If we play our top or play well I feel like we can get that gold medal Ross said via NBC Boston. Also, it's the result of luck. Ross born August 22, 1982, located in Costa Mesa California. She lived there with her family. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of sports while attending Newport Harbor High School. Her prep athletic career included indoor volleyball as well as basketball as well as running and track. While she did well in indoor volleyball, it was clear that her performance was above the average. As per her biography in high school, she was a volleyball player as an outside setter (middle blocker) and setter (outside blocker). As a tribute to her efforts, she received the Gatorade Award for National Player in 1999. The year 2000 was the time she received the Orange County Athlete of the year award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman began their relationship in 2017 however, Ross had been a beach-scene player for years prior to. In fact, she won multiple major tournaments using two partners, one of which is a volleyball icon. She teamed up with Jennifer Kessy from 2007-2013, and she also served as Klineman's coach. Together together with Kessy, Ross won a World Title in 2009 when she competed in the international circuit. The duo would go into winning a silver at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty Maytreanor's legendary team and Kerri Jennings took home the gold. Ross Jennings was May-Treanor's replacement when she retired. Both went on to win the bronze beach volleyball medal at Rio Olympics 2016 with Walsh Jennings. Ross competed for USC Trojans in her college years before becoming a professional. This was an impressive run for Ross at the college level. In 2000, as a freshman she earned Pac-10 and NCAA All-American Freshman of Year awards and earned an All-American. Her Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four. The Trojans were devastated through a tragedy in her life during her sophomore years, yet she managed to become an All-American again. The last two years as a member of the Trojans team the team was led to success by winning two successive national titles. As an individual, she established herself as an all-time legend having won the 2003-04 Honda Sports Award as the most outstanding female college volleyball player. Ross was a major in International Relations at USC. Margie Ross did not get to see Ross achieve beach volleyball's top level. Ross's mom Margie passed away in 2001. Ross was still a USC sophomore. Her breast cancer had been diagnosed. She continues to keep her mother's memory close and close. Margie remains a constant source of inspiration to her on and off the beach.
